The course is suitable for persons who have reached the skill level A1 (on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, CEFR). You have participated, for example, on Finnish for Beginners 2 or have equivalent skills:
You have studied basics of Finnish and are able to tell about yourself, your work, your home and your family. You can also use expressions that are related to everyday life (greetings, introducing yourself, talking about transportation, asking for something, etc.).
We will study Finnish on skill level A1. We will strengthen oral skills in everyday situations. If necessary, we will also revise and deepen basic grammar; the main focus is on language use and conversation skills.
We will focus on practising oral skills and familliarise ourselves with colloquial (informal) Finnish. We will focus on everyday situations such as running errand, as well as making plans for and talking about everyday events, work, free time and hobbies.
The course is intensive and students are required to be active both in class and at home. The languages of tuition are English and Finnish.
Active and regular participation on the lessons, and the oral course exam. In order to get the full certificate, participants need to pass the course exam. Evaluation: Pass/Fail.
