The course is meant for students who have already taken the Chinese Elementary Course I (5 ECTS), or acquired the equivalent skills elsewhere (50 to 60 lessons of previous studies). People whose native language is Mandarin Chinese cannot participate in the course.
Skill level A1 (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, CEFR)
After the course, the students
During the course, the students will do practical discussion exercises, short listening comprehension tasks, simple writing exercises, as well different kinds of usage exercises which will strengthen their language skills. The languages of tuition are English and Chinese, with Finnish used as a supportive language if necessary.
Guihua Zhu: Chuji Hanyu (Elementary Chinese), 2nd edition. The book is not included in the course fee.
60 lessons (à 45 min.) as well as independent work. Regular attendance and active participation in class, as well as a final exam, which will be evaluated on scale 1 to 5. In order to pass the course, the student needs to attend at least 80 per cent of the lessons.
The exam will be held on the final lesson.
The date of the retake exam will be announced later.
