The course is suited for people who have reached the skill level A1.3 or A2.1 (on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, CEFR). You have studied chapters 1 to 3 from the textbook Suomen mestari 2, or have equivalent skills.
The target skill level is A2.1–A2.2.
We continue studying where Learn Finnish 5 ended. The aim of the course is to strengthen participants’ skills on level A2.
Themes will include, for example, free time and hobbies, running errands, relationships, holidays, and customs. On grammar, we will focus on, for example, perfect and pluperfect tenses, as well as the use of different tenses. We will also practise speaking and familiarise ourselves with colloquial Finnish.
The textbook Suomen mestari 2 forms the core of the course. We will study chapters 4–6. The themes will be practised with the help of various exercises, texts, tasks, and games. We will also discuss in Finnish.
The course is intensive and students are required to be active both in class and at home. At the end of the course, there will be an oral exam.
The languages of instruction are Finnish and English.
Active and regular participation and passing the oral exam at the end of the course. In order to get a full certificate, students are required to pass the exam. In order to pass the courses, participants are required to attend at least 70 or 80 per cent of the lessons.

Please buy or borrow the book before the course begins! The book will be needed from the 1st lesson onwards. Each participant will need their own copy of the book. A dictionary is also recommended.
