Contents
The aim of the course is to strengthen participants’ skills on level A2.
Themes will include, for example, work, education, shopping, and running errands. On grammar, we will focus on, for example, "i" plural (locative, partitive and genitive cases), pronouns (nämä, nuo, ne), and familiarise ourselves with the comparison of adjectives. We will also practise speaking and familiarise ourselves with colloquial Finnish.
The textbook Suomen mestari 2 forms the core of the course. We will study chapters 7–8, and also revise the main issues of the previous chapters. The themes will be practised with the help of various exercises, texts, tasks, and games. We will also discuss in Finnish. At the end of the course, there will be an oral exam.
The course is intensive and students are required to be active both in class and at home. The languages of instruction are Finnish and English.
Modes of study
Active and regular attendance and an exam at the end of the course. The course is intensive: participants are required to be active and study independently.
To pass the course, participants are required to attend at least 80 per cent of the lessons.
