Contents

During the course, we will begin working with the textbook Yabluko. Intermediate Ukrainian (Яблуко. Рубіжний рівень).

The course combines grammar learning with practical communication. Students will work with authentic texts, dialogues, audio materials, and interactive exercises reflecting contemporary Ukrainian language and culture.

During the course, students will:

  • work individually, in pairs, and in small groups;
  • discuss everyday topics and aspects of Ukrainian culture;
  • complete creative and practical communicative tasks;
  • develop speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills;
  • reinforce new grammatical structures through practical use;
  • improve written and spoken communication skills in various social situations.

The main language of instruction is Ukrainian (Finnish and English will be used as support languages when needed).

Modes of study

The  course comprises 52 lessons (à 45 minutes) as well as independent work. The student workload of a 4 ECTS course is approximately 108 hours (including lessons and independent work). To pass the course, participants need to attend the lessons regularly and be active, do homework and take the final exam, which will be evaluated on scale 0–5. To pass the course, students need to attend approximately 80 per cent of the lessons.

You can also participate on the course without taking the final exam. This means that you will not get credits (ECTS) for the course.
