Online course

Online contact lessons 2.6.–25.6. and 4.–25.8.2025 on Mondays and Wednesdays at 18.15–19.45 (the course consist of 2 periods and there is a break in between the periods)

We will use the Zoom platform on the course. Participants will need a reliable internet connection, a microphone, and (if possible) a camera.

Target group

The course is suitable for anyone interested in Ukrainan language and culture. Previous skills are not required.

Contents

Welcome to learn about Ukrainain language and culture! We will study basics of the Ukrainian language with the focus on practical language skills.

We study basic topics such as the alphabet (abetka), greetings, family, hobbies and professions, travelling, living, weather, and holidays. Ukrainian is written with the Cyrillic alphabet and we will learn to read and write with it during the course.

Main languages of instruction are Finnish and Ukrainian (also English if needed).

Modes of study

The course consists of 30 lessons (à 45 min.) as well as independent work. There will be no end-of-the-course test.

NOTE! The book is in Finnish/Ukrainian!

Teacher's own materials will be used as well. Moodle learning environment will be used on the course.
