Suomen kieltä työelämään (Finnish for Working Life)

Online course 15.9.–1.12.2025 on Mondays and Tuesdays at 18.00–19.30
No lessons on week 42.
We will use Zoom and Moodle platforms. To participate, you will need a computer with a reliable internet connection, microphone, and a camera. You will get more information about the platforms by email approximately 1 week before the 1st lesson.
Target group
The course is suitable for you, if you have studied Finnish before and your skill level is on the level B1 or B2 (on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, CEFR).
What will we do on on the course?
You will study Finnish language skills needed in the working life. The aim of the course is to improve your Finnish language skills so that you will be able to apply for a job, work in Finland, and perform well at your job.
We will do diverse exercises, which will improve your speaking, listerning, writing, and reading skills.
Topics will include, for example:
- applying for a job: work ads, job application and CV
- job interview
- Finnish work culture and rules
- email and telephone Finnish
- meetings and negotations
Participants will also study some vocabulary and grammar. All the exercises will be practical and working life -orienteered.
Modes of study
The course comprises 40 lessons (à 45 minutes) as well as independet work. To pass the course, participants need to attend the lessons regularly, be active, and finish exercises given on the course.
We will use continuous assesment.
