Reading Arabic for Beginners - distance learning

Online course August 2026 (more information will be available in early April)

We will use Zoom and Moodle platforms on the course. To participate, you will need a computer with a reliable internet connection, a microphone, and a camera. More information about the platforms will be sent by email approximately 1 week before the 1st lesson.

The course is taught in English.

Target group

The course is meant for absolute beginners, who have not studied Arabic before. Near-beginners who have learned the Arabic script (for example, through an introductory course) and would like to strengthen their reading skills and pronunciation, are welcome too!

Objectives and contents

The course focuses on developing skills in reading Arabic aloud and recognising common word patterns, and learning vocabulary. We will work with short, fully vocalised texts and guided exercises. The emphasis will be on:

• developing accurate pronunciation
• building reading skills through repetition and guided support 
• recognising common word patterns and expanding core vocabulary
• reinforcement of foundational grammar in context

The course is taught in English.

Early bird discount

You will get an early bird discount of 10 € when you enrol on the course on 26.4.2026 at the latest and pay the course fee online after filling  in the enrolment form. The discount is already included in the course  fee. Starting on 27.4., the course fee will be 75 €.
