Advanced English Conversation Classes - distance learning

Time

Online course 28.9–30.11.2026  on Mondays at 17.00–19.15.

We use Zoom and Moodle platforms on the course. To participate, you will need a computer with a reliable internet connection, a microphone, and a camera. More information about how to access the platforms will be sent by email approximately 1 week before the 1st lesson.

Target group

Do you know English grammar and vocabulary, but would really like to improve your communication skills?

The Advanced Conversation Classes course is designed for advanced-level speakers of English (C1/C2, advanced/proficient) to help you to communicate and discuss more effectively, and with greater confidence. The course will also help you to speak more accurately and fluently, and pronounce words more clearly.

Common European Framework of Reference for Languages

Objectives

By the end of the course you will be able to hold conversations and discuss topics on a wide range of common, abstract, and universal themes. You will have learnt different idioms, expanded your vocabulary, and explored different ways of saying things. Additionally, you will be more culturally aware and know how to express yourself more appropriately and understandably.

Contents

Topics – Personal (own perceptions, well-being, relationships, food, work-life balance); the world (travel, nature, tools, descriptions, fashion); society (entertainment, money and finance, games, technology, celebrations and festivals) and global issues (movements, the press, migration, the environment, innovation and creativity).

Systems – Vocabulary connected with the topics which also includes collocations and phrasal verbs. Grammar consists of modal verbs, conditional sentences, the active and passive voice, a comprehensive look at the tenses, and prepositions and articles. Grammar will not be practised explicitly but through using the course materials in an inductive way. 

Modes of study

Active and regular attendance. There will be no end of course test.

The book is not included in the course fee. NOTE! The book will be needed for the 1st lesson, so please get the book before the course starts.

Early bird discount

You will get an early bird discount of EUR10 when you enrol on this course on 16.8.2026 at the latest and pay the course fee online after filling in the enrolment form. After 16.8., the course fee will be 125 €.
