Online course 8.10.–17.12.2024 on Tuesdays at 17.00–20.15 (Orginal schedule of the course has changed, schedule of compensatory lessons will be informed later)
We will use Zoom and Moodle platforms on the course. To participate on the lessons, you will need a computer with an internet connection, a micophone and a camera. More information about Zoom and Moodle will be sent by email before the course begins.

Target group
Ukrainian Intermediate Course 1 is meant for students who have already taken Ukrainian Elementary Courses 1 and 2 plus Intermediate Courses 1 and 2 or acquired equivalent skills elsewhere (skill level A2 on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, CEFR).
Objectives

After the Ukrainian Intermediate Course 2, students can
- understand the main points of clear standard speech on familiar matters
- handle short social exchanges
- read simple non adaptive texts and write in Ukrainian
- describe common ailments
- express future possibility
- write simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest
Contents
On this course we will revise the topics of the previous courses. We will learn new, expanded grammar and vocabulary. Each lesson will consist of reading texts, dictations, and speaking and listening exercises.
Grammar: revision of noun and it's 6 cases; comparative adjectives; verb past, present and future; adverbs; question words; reciprocal and reflective pronouns.
The course is taught mainly in Ukrainian and English.
Modes of study
The course comprises 52 lessons (à 45 minutes) as well as independent work. The student workload of a 4 ECTS course is approximately 108 hours (including lessons and independent work). To pass the course, participants need to attend the lessons regularly and be active, do homework and take the final exam, which will be evaluated on scale 0–5. To pass the course, students need to attend at least about 80 per cent of the lessons.
You can also participate in the course without taking the final exam, in which case you will not get a performance of the course and no ECTS.
Materials
Yuri I. Shevchuk: Beginner's Ukrainian with Interactive Online Workbook, 3rd Integrated edition, chapters 11–15 (we will start by briefly reviewing the first chapters of the book)
The book is not included in the course fee.
In addition there will be material provided by the teacher (via Moodle). You need also a notebook for practising the writing.
