Speak Up: English Conversations on Present-day Issues for B1-B2+ Learners
Wednesdays from 17:00 to 19:00, distance learning 18.9.-27.11.2024. No lessons 16.10.
The teaching uses the Moodle learning environment and the Zoom system. The student must have a good internet connection, microphone and camera.
Description
Come and practice expressing your opinion and other language usage patterns needed in conversation. The goal is to expand conversational skills to handle more demanding topics as well. During the study period, we focus on producing our own speech and expanding our vocabulary with the help of interesting and current topics of the modern world.
To support the discussion, the student receives a short text and/or a vocabulary exercise related to the week's theme 3-4 days before the discussion lesson via Moodle.
Themes include e.g. social phenomena (remote work, sustainable lifestyle, pandemics), everyday life (food trends, balancing work and free time), science and technology (artificial intelligence, biotechnology) and culture and entertainment (art, television, movies).
