Short English Pronunciation Practice Course - contact teaching

Want to improve your English pronunciation? If your current skill level is B1+ (intermediate or above), this course is for you!

The course is held as a contact teaching/classroom course (remote partiticipation is not possible).

Target group

Are you tired of people looking confused when you speak English to them? Then, this course is for you. Designed for B1+ (intermediate and above) level learners who want to improve their English pronunciation. You will be shown how to pronounce individual sounds more clearly, and words and sentences more understandably. You will have lots of opportunities to practise dialogues, listen to distinct sounds, read texts aloud and discuss.

Objectives

By the end of the course you will be able to speak more clearly and understandably. You will have listened to different accents, practised how to make specific sounds and learnt how to hear sound differences. Additionally, you will have more confidence in producing sounds more accurately, and speaking more naturally with better intonation.

Contents

Pronunciation practice of the consonant sounds used in English, in combining sounds and in using word stress in multi-syllable words. Particular focus is on sounds Finns, and other nationalities, find difficult to recognise and produce consistently.

The course is taught in English.

Modes of study

Active and regular attendance. There will be no end of course test.

The course comprises 12 lessons (à 45 minutes) as well as independent work.

Early bird discount

You will get an early bird discount of 10 € when you enrol on the course on 26.4.2026 at the latest and pay the course fee online after filling in the enrolment form. The discount is already included in the course fee. Starting on 27.4., the course fee will be 75 €.
