Language-focused cleaning training for Ukrainians

Are you interested in working in the cleaning industry in Finland?

Tampere Summer University organizes free language-focused training in cleaning for Ukrainians who have arrived in Finland. The training includes training in the cleaning industry, an on-the-job learning period in a cleaning company, and Finnish language training. The aim of the training is to strengthen the employment opportunities of Ukrainians living in Tampere and Pirkanmaa.

Target group

Ukrainians living in Tampere and Pirkanmaa who want to improve their skills to meet the Finnish labor market.

Contents

1. Cleaning industry training (20 hours)

Contents:

- Customer service situations and working as a member of the work community
- Cleaning planning at the customer site: surface materials, dirt types and methods
- Cost structure and cost evaluation of cleaning services
- Responsible and safe use for cleaning products
- Cleaning methods
- Cleaning tools and ergonomics
- Environmental responsibility in the cleaning industry

During the training period in the cleaning industry, the schedule of the on-the-job learning period is agreed with each participant. The length of the on-the-job learning period is 20 hours and it will be implemented during 2024 at Campusta Oy:s cleaning sites.

A Ukrainian language interpreter is used in the training section of the cleaning industry. The languages of instruction for the work-based learning courses are Finnish and English.

2. Finnish language training (online course, 52 teaching hours)

Participants choose a group according to their language level:

Group 1 (elementary level, starting level 0): lessons 10–27 June 2024, Monday–Friday from 1:00 p.m.–4:15 p.m.
Group 2 (beginner level advanced course, starting level A1.1): teaching 1–17 July 2024, Monday–Friday from 13:00–16:15

Finnish and English are the teaching languages of Finnish language courses.

The training is financed by the Finnish National Board of Education / Continuing Learning and Employment Service Center and is free of charge for participants.
